Quack me up monochrome card
Hello crafty friends! My name is Rachel. I’m so excited and honoured to be a guest designer for Heffy Doodle this month. As a huge fan of monochrome cards, especially black and white ones, i thought it would be fun to show you one for my first project. It has a colourful surprise on the back of the card!
For this card i’ve used the following Heffy Doodle products:
The Quack Me Up Bundle, You Go, Gull Stamps, Otter Side Stamps and Deer To Me Stamps.
To make this card, I first started by cutting out three round pieces, out of white cardstock. After that, I used a wavy border die on one of them. You can use a Breaking Waves Border Dies for this. Then, I started inking and splattering. I’ve used Black Soot, Hickory Smoke and Weathered Wood Distress Oxides Inks. When my background was dry, I placed a rain drops stencil on it and used some glitter paste. For the back of my card, I used a rainbow stencil and stamped my sentiment. You can use Rainbow Builder Stencil for this! Please note: this stencil is retiring, so grab it while supplies last! I’ve glued all my three inked pieces together.
Next, I stamped all my images on some alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured them in using my alcohol markers. Then it was time to cut out my images and arrange them on my card. I like to place all of them on my background without using any kind of adhesive first, so I can see how the whole scene is coming together. When I was happy with the placement, I glued the images on my background. I added some white lines and dots details with a white gel pen.
Now it is time to get a sentiment on the front of my card. I’ve stamped the sentiment onto some black cardstock using Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. To make clear that the sentiment continues onto the backside of the card, I added two white dots with a white gel pen. I adhered the sentiment to my card with some foam squares.
I’m very happy to have been able to share a monochrome black and white card using Heffy Doodle products. Making monochrome cards always puts a smile on my face. I hope it made you happy too! If you enjoyed my blogpost and you are curious about my other cards, I would love to connect with you. You can find me on instagram.
