Perfect Combos – Happy Bee-Day

Hello Everyone,

It is Zsofi here, welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series. For this cheerful slimline birthday card I chose to combine a few of my favourite Heffy Doodle stamp sets: Big Bug Hugs, Gnome Matter What and Hootiful. I also created my own stencil, let me show you how.

First I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink: the bugs from Big Bug Hugs, the branch from Hootiful and the big mushroom from Gnome Matter What. I clear heat embossed them and painted them with Karin Brushmarkers. I love how vivid the colors are. On the wings I used a clear shimmer pen to move the ink, in this way I got the subtle sparkle instantly. When they were dry I cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Then I used the Stitched Slimline Trio die set to create my own stencil: from a piece of white cardstock I cut the smallest rectangle and the window die using Heffy Memo Tape to hold them together. Then I die cut another small slim rectangle from Neenah Solar White Cardstock and adhered the homemade stencil temporarily using the Memo Tape. I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink through the windows and before removing the stencil I added diluted blue and black ink and also some white splatters. I like to add texture with this technique.

After removing the stencil I stamped the sentiments in black and popped up the images with 3D foam squares.

I used the other 2 slimline dies from the Stitched Slimline Trio set to create mats: a light blue and a darker one to create contrast. I adhered them on a slimline cardbase measuring 3,5*8,5 inches and finished it off with a few blue star sequins.
