Perfect Combos – Hang in there

It’s Zsofi here, welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle. The schoolyear is almost ending, I feel on my kids that they are super tired. They need all kinds of encouragement for the last stretch. I created this funny card to make them smile. I used stamps and dies from the latest release, let me guide you through the process.

I started with stamping the giraffes from the Two by Two safari animals set and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: GB5, GB3, GB2, GB1, EB7, GB10, GB7. I added some darker dots to each giraffe for a little texture. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I also coloured a bunch of leaves: AG5, AG3, AG1. I also cut these out with their coordinating dies and while I was die cutting I cut the Hang in there Jumbo Sentiment from white cardstock and its shadow from dark brown cardstock.

I used liquid glue for assembling the sentiment as it gave me enough time to tuck the little leaves as embellishments in between the 2 layers. I love how it turned out!

To make the card funny, I adhered the giraffes upside down to the back of the sentiment and popped it all up on an A2 card base covered with pretty patterned paper form the Man Cave paper pad. I used 3D foam squares to give it dimension.

As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on their eyes and noses.
