Perfect Combos – Flying by to say..
Hello Everyone,
It is Zsofi here with a cute birthday scene as my first post here on the Heffy Doodle blog! I am super excited to share with you Perfect Combos through the next couple of months and hope to inspire you to look at your stamp sets differently.
I have the Big Bug Hugs stamp set from a previous release for a while now and I was itching to ink up these adorable critters. After the winter break I am immediately in Spring mood usually and cannot wait for the picnic weather to arrive. This mood strongly had an affect on my colour palette and scene today 🙂 To accessorize my party bugs, I stamped little images from other sets: the present and camera from Happy Snappy Crocs, the cake and balloon from Elephant of surprise and the big mushroom and flower from Gnome Matter What. I coloured everything with Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
The background I kept simple: on a piece of white cardstock I blended Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks with a blending brush. I love how smooth transition we can achieve with these brushes! It was a total game changer for me when I first tried them out! On the bottom of the cardstock I applied some Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink, making sure to fade it out towards the sky.
I assembled the scene using liquid glue, I really enjoyed adding the little accessories to the bugs. They look so cute! My favourite is the bee with the camera.
As the scene was already quite busy I decided to stamp the sentiment directly around the birthday-queen with black ink. I also added some clouds with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink from the Quack me up stamp set. I love the tone-on-tone textured look!
Finally I used a black glaze pen on the eyes, a clear shimmer pen on the wings and balloons and some glossy accents on the ribbons and the crown.
I hope you got inspired by this combination of stamps to create a scene. Perfect for a cheerful birthday! If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!
See you soon,
Zsofi
