Mix & Match with Amanda – Interactive You’re Weird + Home Sweet Home
Hello friends and welcome back to the Heffy Doodle blog and my Mix and Match Monday!
I’m super excited to share this interactive slider card with you! I love creating galaxy backgrounds and I just adore the You’re Weird stamp set! Why not create a New Home card featuring those cute little aliens with the Home Sweet Home stamp set!?
I’m going to start by making my galaxy background first! I am blending Flirty Fuchsia, Suede Shoes, Lime Ricket, Twilight and Black Jack. Next, I am grabbing a water brush and flicking water and water mixed with white acrylic paint to create my starry texture.
For my hills, I’ve grabbed my Slopey Joe Border Dies and Lime Rickey ink and die cut and ink blended them. To create my interactive element, I’ve lined up a Straight Slider Die directly in the center of my card. I’ve also glued down my cut out piece directly to my card base.
Next, I’m ready to stamp and color my images from the Home Sweet Home and You’re Weird sets. I will die cut them out using the coordinating dies.
Now, I’m ready to assemble the card with my spaceship as my slider element. I am using Deep Foam Tape all along the back of my card front. This foam tape is has extra depth which helps interactive elements move easily. I’m using a small 3D foam square cut down into a rectangle on the back of my button. Then, I’ll flip the button over and adhere it to the back of my spaceship.
For my sentiments, I’m using the Whatcha Saying Now stamp and die set and one of the sentiments from the Home Sweet Home set. I’m also using the Sun, Moon, and Stars Die to add the moon and small stars.
And voila! My slider card is complete! Here is the card in action:
Thank you so much for stopping by the Heffy Doodle blog today! I hope you’ve enjoyed my card and it’s inspired you to make something fun today! Xx, Amanda
