Long Time No Sea with Davina

Hello Crafty friends. Davina here with a ocean themed card to get us through the weekend, before the amazing sneak peek week begins finishing with a long awaited new release! I’m so excited and can’t wait to share the incredible new items heading your way.

I know I should be sharing a Color snapshot project, and this cute sea critter card started off with my best intentions of following the color board, but I got distracted and my colors got a little brighter. So I have kiwi green and strawberry pink instead of an icy mint green and Rose pink

I found some colorful plaid paper in my stash that had a nice blue and soft red/berry color palette, that I thought would look great with the color board. I cut a panel for my cardbase. Next, I created a white panel the same size, but trimmed it down the show an inch to layer over the patterned paper. I achieved nice stiched details using the stand alone die set Lovely Little Borders. I cut 3 cute tags using the Mini Essential Die set, and inked each tag with a different shade of aqua.

I got out my ocean sets and stamped images from A Little Shellfish, You Go, Gull, and Sealy Friends. I copic colored everything and used the coordinating die cuts. Then I added small white highlights. I added a few inches of soft white twine to each tag,and began assembling my card. I layered the white card over my patterned paper, then popped each tag up using Heffy Doodle Foam Tape. I inked a strip of white cardstock to make it berry pink, then heat embossed my sentiment onto it before trimming into a banner.

I love the texture of the tags and twine and didn’t feel it need any additional embellishments. I hope you like this little card and really hope that you visit us each day next week for lots of beautiful inspiration and planets of projects showing the new release! Thank you,
