Koality Paper Hugs!
Hi crafty friends! Peggy here with a fun project featuring sweet koalas and paper hugs! Let me show you how I made this card!
I started by stamping the two koalas and the eucalyptus sprig from Koality Hugs and stamping the letters and parcel from Special Delivery. I stamped with alcohol marker friendly ink and colored with alcohol markers. I die cut everything with the coordinating dies.
I wanted to go for a split complementary color scheme in Yellow Green. The split complementary is then Red (which makes pink when toned down) and Red-Violet (which is like an aubergine color). I made sure my images matched this color scheme.
Next, I cut a white cardpanel fit for ink blending and blended from darker color on the outer edge to a lighter middle using Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves, Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar. I cut the Bonnie Birch Trees from kraft cardstock. I adhered the trees to the ink blended panel using liquid glue (Hi Glubert!). And splattered the entire panel with white acrylic paint and gold metallic watercolor.
I cut the wreath from the Leafy Laurel Circle Dies from some Kiwi Crush cardstock. I cut the paper hugs sentiment from the Deckled Paper Hugs die set. I cut the shadow from white cardstock and the sentiment from some Bubblegum Blush cardstock. I adhered them together with liquid glue and placed the wreath behind it. Lastly I adhered everything to my card panel using both foam tape and liquid glue.
Have a happy crafty day!
Long distance hugs,
Peggy
