Jump for Joy! You are Toadally Unfrogettable!
Hello crafty friends! My name is Peggy Emmerink and welcome to my Heffy Doodle blog series called Color Wheel Combos! I usually choose the colors for my card either intuitively or get inspiration from fellow crafters. But for this series, I wanted to get up close and personal with color by using a color wheel to help me choose colors that work well together. I hope to learn a lot for myself along the way. But I certainly hope you will enjoy going on this journey of discovery with me! Let’s get started!
Today we are jumping for joy with the cutest Be Hoppy frogs! I chose a colour scheme that would suit the set and that is why I went with a primary colour (Blue) and two secondary colours (Green and Orange). I started by creating a fun shaped pond using the Elm Street Dies. I cut the main die in the set twice. Once from cardstock suitable for ink blending and once from the dark green stripey paper in the Fright Night Patterned Paper Pad.
I placed the green patterned paper frame on a standard size card base. The white cardstock cutout I ink blended with Salvaged Patina and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. I used the Ripple Waves Stencil over top with some white pigment ink and splattered some metallic watercolor inks across the panel for some interest. I made sure to blend only very lightly in the place I wanted my sentiment to go and also temporarily cover that spot for ink splattering.
I stamped all of the images in the Be Hoppy stamp set. The scene building images such as the rocks, wood, lily pads and lilies I stamped multiple times. I cut everything with the coordinating dies and coloured the images with my alcohol markers. I stamped my sentiment from the Be Hoppy set in the spot I left free of ink and paint. Then, I assembled my scene using a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
These little frogs make me so happy! I hope they make you happy too!
Long distance hugs,
Peggy
