How to Create a 3D Room with Masking

Hello there, Heffy Doodle friends! It’s Amanda Fitterer here today on the blog sharing how I made this card featuring the Hello Squeakheart and Cozy Kitties stamp sets!

The first step in creating the 3D room background is to draw 5 lines with a archival ink pen and a ruler. I drew my marks first with a pencil. Then, when I had all the correct measurements, I drew them in pen. Next, I put a piece of Heffy Memo Tape on the bottom portion of the “room”, lining it up with the bottom of my “back wall”.
Then, I traced my left and right bottom wall lines with pencil and trimmed those edges off. This allows me to mask off the “floor” so that I can ink blend the “walls” with Hot Tub and Skylight inks.
Then, I masked off the “walls” so that only the “floor” was showing, and ink blended Gingerbread ink.

Once the background was finished, I stamped, colored, and cut my images from the Hello Squeakheart and Cozy Kitties stamp sets. I adhered those stamped images to my background using 3D foam circles.

I added a few sparkle mix elements from the Sugar Plum Sparkle Mix with liquid glue. Then, I glued my front panel to an A2 sized white cardbase.

That’s all for me today, friends! I hope you all have a fantastic week and I hope you find some time to get crafty! Xx, Amanda
