Holiday Cheer–Distress Ink Card
Hello, Heffy Doodle friends! It’s Cassie here 🙂 How was your weekend?! Mine went way too fast. But really, they all do! I’m back today with another card to share with you. Today I was inspired by fellow design team member Jessica to create a cute polar bear scene with some of the bears from Beary Big Heart and a sweet sentiment from Elfing Christmas Words.
I started out by grabbing all the cute snowflakes from the Warm Hugs stamp set and stamping them in VersaMark ink on an A2 panel of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. I used clear embossing powder and melted it with my heat gun. To create a beautiful sky I used the Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire and some ink blenders. I wanted the sky to look even more like a blizzard so I spritzed it with my perfect pearls. I love the shimmer it adds, and it gives a little more depth to the snow 🙂
I took another piece of scrap Neenah Solar White cardstock and used a stitched hillside die to create a snowy ground for my scene. To build my scene I stamped out the cutie bear and card from Beary Big Heart, the stocking from Elfish Antics, and the igloo from Warm Hugs with Copic safe black ink, and colored them all in. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and started arranging them on the card.
Once everything was in place I adhered it down to the Distress Ink and snow hill. I wanted the bear to look like he was caroling so I found some music notes from some random sets in my stash and stamped them above him. The little card I colored I wanted to look like it was a book of Christmas carols. I love the versatility of these stamp sets when you think outside of the box!
To finish my card I stamped the buildable sentiment from Elfing Christmas Words with VersaMark and heat embossed gold embossing powder over it. I cut them down to strips and adhered with foam tape. I added a couple white gel pen accents and that finished off my card for today!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed it. I’m pluggin away at my holiday cards, how about you?? I’m such a procrastinater, so I really need to make a list of who I’m sending them to, and get them in the mail ASAP! Do you send cards last minute, or have you already sent your holiday cards already?
Thanks again for stopping by! I hope you all have a great week, and I’ll see you again with another card!
