Holiday Cheer – December 2023 Challenge
Hello crafty friend, Amanda Stevens here again, to announce the winner of November’s challenge and issue a new one for December! We’d like to thank everyone who entered the Harvest Challenge last month. There were some really lovely projects! You can see all of the entries over in the Heffy Doodlers group on Facebook. While you’re there, you can share your projects and meet new crafty friends.
I know you’re excited to see who won last month’s challenge, so please help me congratulate Kaja Drnovšek! Isn’t her Wingman bird-day card adorable? I love the partially stenciled background and the harvest color palette, don’t you?
To choose the winner, all entries (except those by Lesley and the current design team) were assigned a number, in order of posting. We used random.org to choose the winning number.
Well my friend, it’s December, and I have no idea where the rest of the year has gone, but I’m excited to start spreading HOLIDAY CHEER! Have you started your holiday cards yet? I made a few throughout the year, but I need to make a lot more. If you’re in the same boat, let’s make them and share the inspiration! I’ll kick off the challenge with this fun shaker card. There’s no coloring, just die cutting and a little gold splatter, so this card is quick and easy to mass produce, even though it’s a shaker.
I love the bold look of red and gold. The pattern paper adds interest to the package and frames the stacked sentiment nicely. To create the gold scalloped frame, I cut a mini scalloped rectangle, then cut out a slightly smaller rectangle from the center. (If you have the Scalloped Frame Dies, you could use one of those instead and save a step.)
If you’d like to recreate a card like this, here are the supplies you’ll need…
Here are the Heffy Doodle products I used:
Present Shaker Dies
Scripty Merry Christmas Shadow Dies
Mini Scalloped Rectangle Dies (Imperial)
Whimsically Wonky Rectangle Dies (Imperial)
Tinsel Town Paper Pad
Secret Santa Sparkle Mix
Inspired to start spreading some HOLIDAY CHEER? Pull out your Heffy Doodle goodies and create a card of your own. To enter, go to the Heffy Doodlers Facebook Group and post a picture of your project in the December 2023 Challenge album (it will be pinned to the top). Enter as many cards as you like. The winner will be randomly chosen from all entries posted prior to Midnight (UT) on December 31, 2023. You are not limited to cards, feel free to post tags, scrapbook pages, home decor projects, etc. Just be sure the bulk of the stamps and dies used are from Heffy Doodle, and you incorporate the HOLIDAY CHEER theme. Good luck my friend!
Remember, when you enter this month’s challenge, you’ll have a chance to win a £35 gift voucher! Questions, just ask. Need some new shaker dies or cute critters? Visit the Heffy Doodle shop and check out the awesome selection!
Don’t forget, you enter the challenge in the Facebook group, not here. Oh, and let’s keep it PG please 😉
I’ll be back on January 2nd to announce the winner and the next challenge. Until then, I’ll see you on Facebook…
