Here’s a paper hug just for you

Hi craft friends,

Today I’m over at the Heffy Doodle blog with this adorable card, because sometimes, someone just needs a paper hug, right? So, let me show you how I created this card.

For the base of my card, I used the Slimline Quartet Die.
Firstly, I die-cut it 3 times; once with dark blue Cardstock and twice with light blue Cardstock. Using the middle die-cut to get the 4 separate panels once.
We won’t be using everything we’ve die-cut today, but that’s okay; you can certainly use it again for another card!

I’ve worked on the 4 separate pieces of light blue Cardstock with blue distress oxide and splashes of water and blue ink. This gives it that finishing touch.

For the stamps today, I used the Special Delivery Stamps and their Matching Dies.
I stamped this onto white cardstock with Memento Ink, so I could then color it in with my Copics.
I kept the colors simple today; the storks don’t need much color to come to life. And how adorable is the stork with the little post bag around its neck?
Using the Matching Dies, I die-cut the stamps with the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine.

I adapted the sentiment easily, by using Heffy Doodle Memo Tape. This allowed me to stamp a part of the sentiment with Embossing Ink each time and create a custom-sized sentiment.
I love the effect of embossing a sentiment on black paper; it really pops off the card.

The final step was to attach all the elements of my card to a slimline card base.
And to attach my sentiment and storks. I raised the storks with Foam Tape to create a nice depth in my card.

I hope I’ve been able to inspire you today! See you next time.

X Mirjam
