Happy Snappy 70th!
Hey there everyone! Happy Tuesday!
It’s Morgan here to share with you this funky birthday card. I was in need of a masculine card for a very special recipient’s 70th birthday so I reached straight for the Happy Snappy Crocs and got crafty!
Firstly, I stamped my crocodile onto some Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock with the mini MISTI and some Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I coloured him in using Copic Markers in the colours YG06, YG07 and G05. After, I die cut him using the corresponding Happy Snappy Crocs Dies and the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine.
I went back later to stamp, colour and die cut his little wine bottle and glass; I couldn’t resist making use of the little internal cut line in his arms! Those cute little hands were made for holding- so that’s just what he needed to do!
I also decided this card needed a subtle bit of bling so I used the Wink of Stella Brush to add just a little bit of sparkle to the wine glass and bottle. Just look at this photo and how it sparkles!!
To create the little pop of colour in the background, I used Twisted Citron and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxides with the Circle Masquerade Stencil. Then I had some fun splattering the background with water which had a little hidden sparkle to it (Ranger’s Perfect Pearls Powder). I also layered some Kiwi Crush Cardstock under my white card base for a funky border. I just love how it turned out! The perfect home for a happy croc!
For my sentiment, I had to go with the Happy Birthday Shadow Heffy Cuts. I die cut this in White Cardstock and Kiwi Crush Cardstock and stuck them together with some Glubert. I used some Heffy Doodle Foam Tape to add my sentiment and my croc to the card for a little bit of dimension.
I hope you enjoyed following along on this crafty journey with me! If you would like to watch as I craft this card from start to finish then check it out here. This card was made as part of our Live at Heffy HQ live-stream series on the Heffy Doodle YouTube Channel.
Thanks for stopping by!
