Happy New Year! – Perfect Combos

Hello Everyone,

It’s Zsofi here, welcome to the last edition of my Perfect Combos series for 2022. To celebrate the New Year, I combined several older sets to create this cutie. Let me show you how I made this card.

First I worked on the background: I did some light ink blending on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide inks: Uncharted Mariner, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed. I added some water drops as texture, then I placed the Numicon stencil over it and went back with the same colours just with a heavier hand. Before removing the stencil I sprayed it with Tsukineko Glimmer Mist for a subtle shine. When it was all dry, I used the Twinkle Twinkle stencil with Gina K Gold Glitz Glitter Gel to make it even more festive.

I stamped and coloured the cute elephant from Elephant of Surprise and four balloons from Party Palooza. I used the Jet Alphabetters to stamp the numbers in each balloon. For the colouring I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: GB4, CT4, CT2, OR3, OR2, OR05, BP5, BP2, BP1, PL4, PL3, PL2, BGR4, BGR3, BGR22, BGR1. I die cut everything with their coordinating dies. I used a thin silver string to attach the balloons to the elephant.

I wanted a funky frame for my little scene, so I die cut the Elm Street die from white cardstock, and popped it up on the background using 3D foam squares. I mounted the elephant with the balloons too with 3D foam squares, I love the dimension!

For the sentiment I used the Holiday sentiment duos, white heat embossed the new year message on a thin strip of black cardstock and added it to the bottom of the card.

As a finishing touch I used a clear shimmer pen on the balloons.
