Happy-Ness Light Up Card

Hello there stamping friends, Carrie Rhoades here today. So happy to be back on the Heffy Doodle blog. I am excited about the card I have to share with you today. It is a light up card and so easy to do with the EZ-Lights by Pear Blossom Press. Did you know you can get the EZ-lights from the Heffy Doodle shop? Today I am going to show you these lights in action and how truly easy they are to use. I added the lights to the Lil Lighthouse and it really helps bring the light house to life and makes for a super fun card to give.

So you can see just how I made this card, I have a video tutorial for you.

If you can not see the video up on this screen, you can also view it right here.

Besides making the light house light up on this card the other element that I think makes this card special is all the layers. I did a lot of simple ink blending with Distress Oxide inks. The I die cut these pieces to create the layers of grass, water and hills.

You can see all the edges are stitched, that is from the Slimline Scenery Dies. What I great die set to use on so many different scene cards, there is grass, waves, hills and clouds in this die set.

Here are all the Distress Oxide inks I used:

SKY: Salvaged Patina

GRASS: Rustic Wilderness

WATER: Chipped Sapphire

HILL & ROCKS: Hickory Smoke

My Nessy, mountains and trees are from the Highland Honeys stamp set. I love the all the critters in this stamp set. And there are two Loch Ness monsters in this set, an adult and a baby!

The card front panel of this card is a rounded stitched rectangle from the Metric set. This die set adds stitching on the rectangle as well as the negative piece. So I die cut mine from a 5″ x 7″ piece of card stock. Then I was able to use both pieces to make this A-7 sized card (5″ x 7″). For the outer frame I used the Highlander Stencil. I started with Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink, but I wanted a bit more color, so I used my Heffy Tape to make stripes and added in a bit of Chipped Sapphire for more interest.

My favorite thing about the Lil Lighthouse die set is the extra die that cuts out the dots for rays of light, it just calls to be lit up!!! I am so pleased with how it all came together and it really was EZ!

Below you will find all the supplies I used to make this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping
