Guest Designer Maria :Ad-Roar-able Lions Happy birthday!!
Hello everyone,
My name is Maria, I’m from My craftway to happiness and I’m guest designing for Heffy Doodle today.
I’m 31 years old and a kindergarden teacher from Germany. I felt so very honored when the lovely Lesley asked me to make this Guest Designer Blog Post. So let’s have a look what I came up with.
The hardest decision I had to make for this project, was to choose which of the super cute stamp sets I wanted to use. And believe me, it was a hard decision. In the end I picked 3 stamp sets as all Heffy Doodle products coordinate so well with each other.
I started with a die cut piece of shimmery white cardstock from Stampin Up! and smooched some Flirty Flamingo ink on it using a little piece of window sheet. That way you have more control over the ink and how your splodge should look like. Afterwards, I picked the two adorable little hearts from the Happy Snappy Crocs (SSS | AZ ) stamp set and stamped them in Versamark and heat embossed them using white embossing powder. I think that they are a great contrast to the flirty flamingo background.
For the main image, I picked the cute sitting lion from the Ad-roar-able Lions stamp set (SSS | AZ), colored him using watercolors and cut him out using the coordinating dies. As I decided to make this card a birthday card, the lion had to have some accessories to get the party started. The little cake from the Elephant of Surprise set (SSS | AZ) and the little gift from the Happy Snappy crocs set (SSS | AZ) were fitting perfectly for that. Aren’t they just so cute?
To give the lion and the accessories some more dimension I drew some lines with my chalk marker and also popped them up on foam dots.
For the sentiment, I picked the HAPPY and BIRTHDAY from the Happy Snappy Crocs stamp set (SSS | AZ). I just love the font that Lesley used on the entire Heffy Doodle launch. It´s so pretty. I stamped my sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black under the lion, present and cake.
After I adhered everything onto the Flirty Flamingo cardbase I chose some champagne sequins to add a little bling to the card.
TAAAADAAAAAA!!! I just love how the card turned out and I´m sure that the receiver of this card will have a big smile on their face , just like the little lion 🙂
Please let me know, what you think of this card and also let me know which is your favorite Heffy Doodle stamp set???!!!
Have a wonderful and creative day!!!
Maria 🙂
