Glitz & Glimmer – July 2023 Challenge

Hello crafty friends, Amanda Stevens here again, to announce the winner of June’s challenge and issue a new one for July! We’d like to thank everyone who entered the Operation Celebration Challenge last month. The cards entered were so cute! You can see all of the entries over in the Heffy Doodlers group on Facebook. While you’re there, you can share your projects and meet new crafty friends. I try to share Lesley’s weekly videos there too as soon as she goes live.

I know you can’t wait to see who won last month’s challenge, so please help me congratulate Roberta Sadler! She mixed and matched sets to create an adorable circus themed box card. Isn’t it neat? I love it, and I’m sure the recipient will too!

To choose the winner, all entries (except those by Lesley and the current design team) were assigned a number, in order of posting. We used random.org to choose the winning number.

I don’t know about you, but I never feel like a card is done unless I’ve added a touch of bling. So this month, I thought it would be fun to add some GLITZ & GLIMMER to our cards! What do you think? Holographic, metallic and glitter papers are an easy way to add glitz. Sparkle Mixes are great options too! Don’t forget about your shimmer pens, pastes, and embossing powders either. To kick off the challenge, I made a card with lots of shiny elements…

This card was so much fun to make! The die cut glitter panel offers lots of sparkle, but doesn’t steal focus from the Flamingos. A holographic circle mimics a disco ball and the sentiment block forms a little stage for the DJ. The scattered gems and music notes fill the space and create a party scene, without having to create actual scenery pieces, like the sky and ground. The winner will be randomly chosen from all entries posted prior to Midnight (UT) on July 30, 2023. You are not limited to cards, feel free to post tags, scrapbook pages, home decor projects, etc. Just be sure the bulk of the stamps and dies used are from Heffy Doodle, and you incorporate the GLITZ & GLIMMER theme.
