Elephant Parade
Happy Tuesday, everybody!
Thanks for joining me on the Heffy Doodle blog today! I’m bringing you a sweet birthday card that is gender neutral (always a plus), and easy to pull together!
I started out by stamping my elephant and balloon images from the Elephant of Surprise stamp set (HFD|SSS) with intense black ink because I knew I would be using my copic markers. I used my Neutral Grays to color in the elephant images and some other bright colors for the balloons. I also used my clear Spectrum Noir shimmer pen to add a shimmery top coat to the balloons. I then used the coordinating Elephant of Surprise dies (HFD|SSS) to cut out my images. Finally, I added a coat of glossy accents to the top of my balloon images for additional shiny dimension.
Next, I went to work on creating my scene. I used the My Favorite Things mini cloud stencil and some Broken China Distress Oxide ink to create the clouds on my card panel. I also used some regular Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and blended them on to a scratch piece of cardstock before using the My Favorite Things Grassy Fields die to cut out that blended strip and glued it on to my card panel. I put some water splatters on to that strip for some added texture to the grass portion of the scene.
Finally, I glued my elephants and balloons on to the card panel. I loved gluing these elephants right on top of each other, looking like they were holding each other’s tails!
I finished off the card by stamping my sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat setting it to avoid smudging/smearing. I then glued the finished panel on to a standard A2 card base (4.25×5.5 inches).
Thanks again for stopping by and enjoying this card with me! Have a great week!
