Early & EASY Christmas Card
Hi Heffy Doodlers!
I am back on the blog today with a very easy ink blended card, featuring a fun stencil and some glitter paste. Who doesn’t love glitter, right?!
I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended it with some Distress Oxides. I chose Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers (my favorite!) and Chipped Sapphire. The Bristol Smooth works so perfectly for ink blending techniques. Really, you should try it if you’re having trouble getting a smooth blend.
Then I took the Feeling Mighty Pine stencil from Heffy Doodle and placed it on the inked panel. I took out an old pot of Cosmic Shimmer paste in the color Sea Green and with a spatula I spread the paste all over the stencil. I took off the stencil and let the panel dry completely.
Tip: Always wash off your stencil and your utensils immediately after playing with glitter pastes. If you forget, they will be ruined and we don’t want that, right?
When the panel was dry, I die cut it with the Whimsically Wonky dies. I think these might be my favorite ‘basic’ dies from Heffy Doodle. I use them a lot!
After that I die cut my sentiment using the Winter Wishes shadow cuts. The sentiment itself was die cut out of Cornflower cardstock, but I did ink over it with Peacock Feathers. This way, the sentiment color coordinates with the background. The shadow was die cut out of vellum. I really wanted those glittery trees peeking through.
I adhered the sentiment on its shadow using liquid glue. Then my whole sentiment was glued on the card panel.
I took a white card base and adhered the whole panel on top.
This already finishes off my card for today. Very easy and simple to mass produce if you want.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Love, Jarle x
