Dino Beach Day
Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a fun new scene for you today! I don’t know about all of you, but it has been so cold and snowy by me this week! So I decided to take some of the cute Heffy Doodle dinos on a beach trip with me to dream of warmer weather!
I started my card with a cloudy background in fun tropical colors. I used the Cloudy Skies stencil with Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, and Worn Lipstick on white cardstock. I die cut some waves from Simply Teal-icious cardstock with the Breaking Waves dies and added them to the cloud background. I then used a Stitched Slopey Joe die on ivory cardstock to create a white sandy beach on the bottom. I added a stitched border to the scene with one of the Stitched Imperial Rectangles, then added it to another piece of white cardstock to leave a small border. I found some green tropical leaf patterned paper in my stash and used that for the base.
I stamped the dinos from Dino Time and Dinky Dinos and some accessories from A Little Shellfish and Otter Side onto Alcohol Marker Friendly cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored with Copics and added a few highlights with white gel pen before cutting them out. I also stamped the trees from Dino Time on white cardstock with green and brown dye inks. They turned out a bit lighter than I wanted, so I added some flicks with green Copics to the leaves to make them a little darker. I added the images to the card front, tucking one dino into the waves to look like it’s swimming and popping the others up with foam tape for dimension. I finished with a sentiment from A Little Shellfish stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
