Dazzling Fluffy Puffy Unicorns with Joanna Louise Faith
Happy Tuesday Darlings and Happy Valentine’s for all of those who celebrate!
It’s Jo here (@havefaithincards) with my first guest blog post for Heffy Doodle, and I am beyond excited to show off some Fluffy Puffy Unicorn magic. Now it is no secret that I am totally addicted to all things shimmer, glitter, and sparkle, but how many ways can you make a unicorn card sparkle? Carry on reading to find out!
The Background:
- Take some holographic cardstock and cut to suit your card size. I used an A2 rectangular card for this design.
- Using Heffy Doodle’s Smooth White Cardstock, I die cut a slightly smaller rectangle than my holographic base, and ink blended Distress Oxides ‘Spun Sugar’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’. I then ran this layer through my die cut machine with a patterned background die. This can be any pattern, but make sure it is one that will show off that lovely holo underneath!
- To finish off the background, I added some random brush strokes of glue and added foil on top for some additional shine.
The Images:
- Taking Heffy Doodles ‘Fluffy Puffy Unicorns’ stamp and die set, I prepared some images onto Heffy Doodles Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock and coloured in the images, keeping in theme with the pink and purple, then ran the cardstock through my die cut matching using the coordinating dies.
- To add some additional sparkle to the images, I used a clear embossing pen to colour in the areas I wanted to highlight (the clouds and two strips of the rainbow) and embossed with a clear glitter powder.
- Using a light grey cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns, and heat embossed in a bright pink powder.
The Finishing Touches:
To complete the card, I adhered the images and sentiments to the background layers using a mix of different adhesives to create dimensions.
I hope you enjoy this sparkly creation and don’t forget to tag Heffy Doodle in all your creations so that we can make sure to show them some love 🙂
Much Crafty Love, Jo x
