Creative Color Combos – Groovy Chick
Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a new color combo for you along with a different way to use the Build a Cabin die! I’ve had this citrus combo saved for a while, and since summer is almost over, I figured I’d better use it!
As I was flipping through my stamps, I came across my Eggcellent News set and decided to try to make a cute chicken coop out of the Build a Cabin set! Here is the result!
I started by blending Distress Oxides in Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass onto white cardstock. I used the Imperial Stitched Rectangles to cut out the ink blended piece, and a larger one to cut a card base from Icy Blast cardstock. I decided I needed a little something between the layers, so I added a layer of vellum for a soft transition.
I used the Build a Cabin die along with Cookie Monster, Oreo Crunch and white cardstock to build my chicken coop. I popped the blue outside up with foam tape so I could tuck the chicken next inside. I stamped several chickens from Eggcellent News onto Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker cardstock and colored them with Copics to match my color palette. I also added some hay bales from Hay There. I popped a few chickens and the rooster up with foam tape for extra dimension and finished with a sentiment stamped in black.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
