Creating a very hoppy shaker card!

Hello everyone, Jordy here with yet another shaker card – this one features one is super cute and bright, perfect for a spring birthday or celebration. You can read on to see how I made this card or feel free to hop on over to YouTube to watch the video!

I started out by using the Ripple Waves Stencil to ink up a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock. I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink, but any blue colour of ink will do. I added a few water splashes for a more ‘watery look’, then set that panel off to the side to dry, while I worked on the rest of my card.

Secondly, I die cut the largest pond piece from the Build A Pond Die set, twice. Once from Kiwi Crush Cardstock which I had cut down to a standard 5.5 x 4.25″ card size, and once from Simply Teal-icious Cardstock. I used the outside of the Kiwi Crush piece and the frame from the Simply Teal-icious piece to stack together to make my card front. I backed these pieces with a piece of Extra Thick Acetate.

After that, it was time to stamp and colour my images and my sentiment. I used the Be Hoppy Stamp Set, along with the coordinating dies, and the Jump for Joy Jumbo Sentiments Dies. I coloured everything with my Copic Markers – I love to use the same colours in my sentiment as I did for my images. I cut everything out using my Mini Die Cutting Machine.

Next up, it was time to attach my images and sentiment to the front of my card panel. I used liquid glue to stick everything down and I always try and lay things out before attaching them down permanently, just to make sure I like the look of everything together.

Then I added 3mm Deep Foam Tape to the back of the panel and added some Enchanted Moss Sparkle Mix to the ink blended panel I had created previously and stuck the two pieces together. Of course it was time to give it all a shake! Finally I attached the card panel to a standard size 5.5 x 4.25″ card base, which I stamped on the inside with a fun sentiment from the stamp set and another little frog.

And that was it – my card complete. I just love the cute little frogs and all that bright green – it just seems so Springlike!

I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope it will inspire you to create today too! Thank you so much for joining me and happy crafting!
