Hello friends! It’s Ashley with a simple yet sweet card featuring one of my favorite new items from the release – the Heart Pencil dies! The new release is so amazing and it is hard to choose favorites, but this die set caught my eye immediately!
I started by using the outline of the Heart Pencil to cut a section out of a piece of Bristol cardstock. I used Zig Clean Color Markers to make stripes of watercolor up from the tops of the pencils to look like the pencils were dragging color down the card front. Once the piece was dry, I added it to an A2 sized piece of white cardstock so I could paper piece the pencils together in the negative space. I used the pencils on a rainbow of Heffy Doodle cardstock, matching them up to the corresponding paint streaks on the card. I pieced the pencils together on the front with Glubert then finished with a few white gel pen highlights for extra interest.
Once my Heart Pencil was complete, I die cut the piece with the largest Scalloped Imperial Frame. I added the frame to an Oyster Shell card base with a tape runner, then used Heffy Doodle Foam Tape to pop the center piece with the heart up. I love the dimension this gives! I finished the card with a simple sentiment using the new Create Shadow die with Oreo Crunch cardstock.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
