Circus of celebration
Hey there Heffy friends…
It’s DT Ashlee here and I’m happy to be sharing a new card with you today. This one is all about the circus featuring some cute zebras celebrating that special someones big day!
To create this card I first started by die cutting the Carnival star backdrop die from a blue card stock. I backed this with a piece of yellow card stock so that it filled in the stars and made them pop! Using the Showtime frame die I did cut the label panel from dark grey card and adhered it to the centre using foam tape. This completed the base, now ready to start adding all the elements….
Using the At the circus die I die cut and paper pieced all the pieces to create a bigtop circus tent and a podium. I just love these type of dies that you get to paper piece and make different things!! Once these were all glued together I adhered them to my card base using foam tape. I always use foam tape on my cards because it gives them so much dimension making the elements pop off the card…
I stamped, coloured and die cut the Two by two zoo animals (both zebras are from this stamp set) and added them to my circus scene. These were coloured using Spectrum noir tri-blend markers and have added highlights using a white gel pen….
The zebra needed a little speech bubble sentiment so I die cut a speech bubble from the Whatcha sayin die and heat embossed a sentiment onto it from the Whatcha saying stamp set using WOW! Opaque bright white embossing powder and added it above the zebras head.
Now it’s time to bring on the bling….
I added a touch of Heffy Doodle Ringmaster sparkle sequins adhered using micro glue dots. Adding a bit of sparkle to a card always completes it for me!
That’s all from me for today, I hope you enjoyed this card and Thankyou for stopping by the Heffy blog! Happy crafting, hugs Ashlee.
