Celebrating our work colleagues!
Hello Crafty Friends, it’s Jasmin here from Jasmin Crafty Makes. Today I’m sharing a card that celebrates a work colleague in congratulating them for a new role. I share how I mask off a 6×6 stencil to make it work on a slimline card plus using letter dies to create a punny sentiment!
Starting with our background today I have die-cut 2 panels from the Stitched Slimline Trio Dies. The largest cut from the Plum Pudding card and the next nesting size die from the Bright White card. Using my Stay-tion to keep the stencil in place I start at one end of the white card panel, using Memo Tape to mask areas that I don’t yet wish to ink.
I’ve grabbed a purple ink brush from my stash that already had plenty of ink left on it so haven’t reinked, I believe from memory the last color used on this brush is Villainous Potion Distress Ink. For the next step, we need to move our Paws of Love stencil along the slimline panel. Use Memo Tape once again to mask off areas you have already inked or don’t yet wish to get inked up. Repeat this until you have filled your slimline panel with the pattern.
Stamp some images from the Cozy Kitties Stamp set, I’m using Copic markers to color my images so have stamped on Alcohol Marker Friendly card stock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I then cut them out using the Coordinating dies, running them through the Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine.
I love a punny sentiment and sometimes you just don’t have to hand the one you need for your project. That’s where alphabet dies come in handy! I’ve pulled out the Stitched Alphabetter Dies cut from Oreo Crunch the letters to spell out Con – Cat – ulations. I’ve cut the word cat also from Plum Pudding card stock to layer on top to make this part of the sentiment stand out more too!
Use adhesive glue to adhere your pieces together onto your card. Back onto a card basedbase that measures 8.5″ x 7″ scored at 3.5″. I have added some simple embellishment using Fright Night Enamel Dots. I like to add these in odd numbers starting with 3, adding 2 from there in a triangle form on my card. I stopped at 5 for this one!
This was a really fun card to create to celebrate a work colleague getting a new job! I will be back soon with more celebration fun!
