Birthday Hugs!
Hey Heffy Doodlers!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. We’re taking a break from the totally fabulous Release 3 to remind you that the previously released stamp sets are still bringing smiles to all of us!
This card would be super easy to re-create. You can combine the images from the Happy Snappy Crocs set, the Unbearable Without You set, and the Elephant of Surprise set and stamp the images in a copic safe ink on to regular white cardstock. You can use whatever coloring medium you want to decorate the images, but I used copic markers for today’s card.
After I was done coloring the images I used the matching die sets to cut them out before setting off to do the card panel.
I masked off the top of the card and used Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to create the ground. I then switched the masking and covered up the bottom so I could use Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks to create the sky. In order to create a softer look and blend, I used an ink blending brush. I recommend using an ink blending brush so that the sky and ground aren’t too vibrant and detract from the colored images.
I cut and scored a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base and then trimmed down that panel so that it was slightly smaller than my card base. I mounted my animal images with foam tape and placed them on to the card panel. Adding the images with foam tape will give you added dimension and visual interest for your card!
I finished off the card by stamping out the sentiment in black ink and then outlining it with a white gel pen to make the sentiment stand out even more. I also took one of my brown copic markers and added some shading under the characters’ feet to ground them to the ground!
That finished up today’s card, and I hope you’ll give it a try! Combining different stamp sets is a great thing to do to get more out of your stamps.
Have a crafty day!
