Beary Warm Hugs Across the Miles

Happy Weekend! It’s Jessica here sharing a super cuddly holiday card featuring Beary Big Heart, Elfing Christmas Words and Oxide Inks. This year for Christmas cards I decided to try and create unique cards for everyone on my list and this one was especially made for Grandma who lives pretty far away!

I started off by creating the background with a combination of Oxide Inks and Distress Inks on a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of watercolor paper. I went from lightest to darkest with my mini blender to create a sort of “Northern Lights” effect, which was super easy and seamless with these inks. Once I was happy with the color, I added water droplets using a clean ink block and my water brush. After a few seconds I wiped away the water with a paper towel and voila – a pretty sky!

Next, it was on to very simple coloring using my Spectrum Noir Markers, I’ve listed the colors below:

Bear: IG1, IG2, Blender

Igloo: IG1, IG2, IG3

Sleigh/Presents: IG2, IG4, IG6, DR1, DR2, DR3, DG3, DG4

Stocking: DG3, DG4, IG2, IG4

Mug/Coffee: TB3, TB4, TN3, TN4 & Glossy Accents

For the sentiments, I chose to heat emboss directly onto the sky background using Versamark Ink and white embossing powder. To get a clean crisp look I used my anti static tool and wiped away any stray powders with a clean fine paint brush. I added the Merry Christmas on the bottom corner with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and clear embossing powder.

For the final touches, I added a snow drift using dies from my stash, 3D foam squares to the bear and present, and added a few signature sequins. Thank you so much for dropping by! Now it’s off to the post office with all my Christmas Cards!
