Beary Big Heart + Distress Inks by Guest Designer Carly Tee Minner
Hi There! I’m Carly and I’m beary thrilled to be here guest designing for Heffy Doodle! 4 things you should know about me…I love puns, sugar, Distress Inks & I’m a total newbie with Copics so please don’t laugh. LOL!
Today I have two cards to share with you using the adorable Beary Big Heart stamp & die set with some of my favorite colors of Distress Inks – Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio & Twisted Citron.
The first card is super simple, with some Distress Ink blended on positive and negative heart die cuts.
I first stamped the sentiment and die cut hearts from an A2 panel. I used it as a guide for where to blend colors of ink on my card front.
After adhering the panel with the negative die cut hearts to my card front, I finished the card with a cute little bear and some foam mounted hearts. Easy peasy!
On the second card, I used the same colors of Distress Ink and did a little “smooshing”.
For ink smooshing, I like to swipe some ink on my craft mat, add a few drops of water and then “pick up” some ink of a scrap of acetate and smoosh it onto my card. I love using this technique for when I want to achieve a watercolor “feel” but on a cardstock that isn’t too water friendly.
Big, BIG thank you for stopping by and to Heffy Doodle for inviting me over to guest! Hugs!!!
