Add a Touch of Gold to your Christmas Cards
Hello! It’s Kari here with a new video and card sharing how to Add a touch of GOLD to your Christmas cards! I’m starting out with the Cozy Kitties Stamp set and pairing it with the Highlander Stencil. I love this plaid stencil…but let’s add a little gold to our plaid background!
Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I colored that kitty up with black spots using Copic markers…isn’t that the cutest kitty?!? Then I also colored up the plant & plant stand, rug, and fish (for the thought bubble). Don’t forget the little Santa hat to put on top of the kitty!
Then I got to work on that background. I used some Evergreen Bough Distress Ink to ink up the Highlander Stencil and then added a gold metallic pen to some of the stripes using a ruler to get it straight.

Next, I die cut the Merry Christmas Word Die from the Tinsel Town 6×6 Paper Pack, using the red diagonal striped paper. I also cut 2 extra layers from white cardstock so I could build up the words and offset them to create a white layer between the red diagonal words and the shadow layer. I cut the shadow from Gold Metallic cardstock.

I cut the plaid panel using the Deckled Paper Hugs Die set so I could add a mat layer of red paper around the entire panel. I just love that deckled edge! I added a subsentiment “you’re in my thoughts” to finish off the card.
I’ve put together a list of products I used for you here, using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase using these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you SO much if you use my links!

I hope you enjoyed this project today! I’ll be back with more to share soon,
