A Fall Scene With A Lovely Ink Combo!
Hi Heffy Doodle friends!
Time for a new post in my ‘Sweet Scenes’ series! I made a cute Fall scene with lovely colors, so let me tell you how this card came together!
I started by die cutting the Bonnie Birch Trees Backdrop out of regular white cardstock. I immediately die cut the Stitched Leaves Backdrop as well out of Bristol Smooth cardstock. With the Copic Markers N0 and C00, I added some accents on those Birch Trees.
For my blending, I chose a new to me color combo. I used Distress Oxides in the colors Faded Jeans, Fossilized Amber and Crackling Camfire. I LOVE this combo for Fall! Will write this combo in my sketchbook so I can refer to it later! I also splattered on some Copic White for a little bit of interest on my background. I added the Bonnie Birch Trees on my blended background with Heffy Doodle Foam Strips. If I were to do this again, I would just adhere it flat with some liquid glue. It was kind of a hassle with all those foam strips.
Then I stamped my cute little images on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The 2 sets I used were Nuts About You and Deer To Me. Perfect sets for all your Fall cards.
I took out my Zig markers and did some watercoloring. That’s why I used that Versafine ink and the Bristol Smooth cardstock. You can find the colors I used below:
- Deer: Brown – Mustard / Oatmeal
- Squirrels: Deep Brown – Deep Brown / Flesh Color
- Leaves: Olive Green – Mid Green / Scarlet Red – Bright Yellow
- Acorn: Dark Brown – Oatmeal
Then I die cut all the images with my trusty Heffy Doodle mini die cutting machine. Really… this machine is heaven!
For my sentiment, I chose the ‘Hello Fall’. I prepped my black cardstock with an antistatic powder tool and stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink. I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. I trimmed the sentiment with my Heffy Doodle mini paper trimmer.
Time to arrange all the images. I popped some up with foam squares and others were adhered with liquid glue. That’s another reason why I should have glued the birch trees directly onto that blended background. Then it would have been much easier to put down all the images.
To finish it off, I adhered my card panel on a white card base. Time to send it off to a friend!
Thank you SO much for visiting! I really appreciate you! Have a great day!
Love, Jarle x
