Happy Bird-Day!
Hello, it’s Kari back again with a new card and video to share! Today I have a vibrant Happy Bird-Day card to share using layered dies to create a focal point. This is a perfect technique to use when you have one image that you want to absolutely stand out on your card!
Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:
I start with the adorable Wingman Stamp set…I just love the parrots and birds in this set! I chose a parrot and colored it up with alcohol markers in a rainbow of colors. I also added some dot details to help with the blending and create more interest to the image.
Next I stamped and die cut out the perch using the coordinating dies. Now on to the Deckled Paper Hugs die set…I cut out a bunch of colors to match my parrot and then the smallest panel was cut with white cardstock. I stenciled on the Vertical Vines stencil using Peacock Feathers distress ink.
I layered up all the die cut layers and popped up the parrot on a perch with Foam Adhesive strips. I added a little twine to hang the perch on and wrapped it around the stenciled panel, securing it to the back with tape. I finished it all off with Hocus Pocus Sparkle Mix, choosing sequins and gems in green and yellow.
I’ve gathered together the supplies I used, with affiliate links used when possible. If you purchase any item using these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you! Thank you for using my links!
Did you enjoy this project today? I hope so. This bright and vibrant card is sure to make anyone smile! I’ll be back soon with another card to share.
