A Swinging Encouragement Card
Hi crafty friends! Peggy here with some card inspiration. I went for a subtle color splash this time based on three colors: teal, pink and orange. Together, they form a split complementary color scheme.
I started by cutting a standard size white cardbase 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″. I used the dotted teal colored paper from the Summer Holiday 6″ x 6″ Patterned Paper Pad to cut a slightly smaller panel to leave a small white border of the cardbase. I adhered the patterned paper to the card base using tape runner.
I used the Carnival Star Backdrop Die combined with the Imperial Stitched Rectangle Dies to make the panel smaller than my patterned paper background. I used foam tape on the back of the panel to create some dimension. A great trick when cutting foam tape is to place it on a baking sheet and cut it into the shape you want. You can easily make blocks or thin strips this way.
I used the Imperal Stitched Rectangle Dies again, this time with the hillside die from the Freshly Cut Grass Die set to make a panel from some vellum paper. I used it to cover the bottom piece of the Carnival Star Backdrop. I cut the Woohoo Shadow Heffy Cuts from kraft (shadow) and white (letters) cardstock.
I stamped one of the dancing flamingoes, the boombox, the flower and the heart from the Flock Star Stamp Set. I colored everything with my copic markers and adhered the images to the vellum using Heffy Doodle Glubert Precision Glue.
I think this card makes a great encouragement card for multiple occasions! Hope you like it!
Long distance hugs!
Peggy
