Toadally Awesome Card
Hello there! Claudia (@mrsclocards) here, welcome back to the Heffy Doodle Blog. This will be my last post as a regular Blog Design Team member so I really wanted to color you happy one last time!
For creating this project I used the Be Hoppy stamp set, the Build a Pond dies, the Awesome shadow Heffy cuts and the Rainbow Builder dies.
First of all, I took a sheet of Heffy Doodle Alcohol Marker Friendly Cardstock and I stamped the frogs using Memento Rich Cocoa and Desert Sand (for the bottom one) inks. I added eyelashes to the mirrored frog and I used one of the dies from the Build a Pond set as a guide to hand-draw the little pond.
I colored the scene with Copic markers using the following colors.
COPIC LIST
– FROG: YG00, YG03, YG06, G24
– RAINBOW: R20, YR00, Y11, YG03, B91, BV00, RV21
– GRASS: YG00, YG03, YG06, G24, G28
– FLOWERS: RV23, R24, YR04, – RV21, R20, YR00
– SKY AND POND: B0000, B00, B02
– GROUND: E30, E31, E33, E35
I though the pond was too plain so I had the idea of adding the rainbow using the Rainbow Builder die as a guide to trace the outer part: I’m toadally in love with the result, the rainbow gives that magical feeling I was searching for!
I later added details with a white gel pen and a brown colored pencil.
I used the second biggest Imperial Stitched Rectangles dies to cut the colored panel, then I stamped the sentiment from the Be Hoppy stamp set using Versafine black ink. I die cut the Awesome shadow Heffy cuts and I colored the letters in rainbow order to match the scene, the I glued it in place. I finally attached the panel over a kraft cardstock card base.
See you soon on the Heffy Doodle blog and happy crafting!
