St. Patrick’s Day!

Hello friends! It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day and I’m celebrating with this LUCKY card! So, dust off your Lucky Friends stamp set and make this card with me!! If you don’t have that stamp set, grab another one and just use this card layout sketch with different stamps and colors!

The first step is to create our gorgeous, ink-filled background! You can either ink up your background first or die cut your panel first! I like to die cut mine first, so I don’t have to wait for my ink and splatters to dry! I’ve used the Stitched Bubble Background Die, but you could use any texture die, or even an embossing folder! The Stitched Hearts Background Die would also be a great pick!

I’ve used Catherine Pooler’s Sage, Spruce, and Deck the Halls inks to blend my background. I start with the lightest color in the center and then work my way out. I like to add some pizazz to my backgrounds by spritzing with water and also adding some flicks of watered down white acrylic paint with a paintbrush.

Now that I’m waiting for my ink and splatters to dry, I’m ready to move onto my images! I’ve stamped the rainbow from the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamp set and the rest of the images are from the Lucky Friends set. I’m using OLO alcohol markers, but any coloring medium would work great! Then, I cut the images out with the coordinating die sets.

Now we’re onto assembling the card! I’ve trimmed a few pieces of black and white stripe patterned paper to use on the side. I’ve cut my green panel down about .5″ so the stripes can peek out. For my sentiment, I stamped it onto black cardstock with glue ink, applied white embossing powder, and then heat embossed it. I’ve grabbed just a few sequins from the Unicorn Dreams Sparkle Mix and glued them down. The rest of the image are propped up with 3D foam squares to give it dimension.

Here are some more images of the finished card:

Well, I hope you have the BEST St. Patrick’s Day this week! Enjoy some green beer! That’s it for me today! Thank you so much for stopping by the Heffy Doodle blog today! Xx, Amanda
