Woohoo Unicorn Card

Hi everyone and welcome back to the Heffy Doodle Blog! Claudia (@mrsclocards) here and today I wanna share with you this cute slimline card I made using many supplies including the Fluffy Puffy Unicorns stamp set, the Slimline Pull Tab dies and the Woohoo Shadow Heffy Cut. This project was inspired by an old card made by fellow DT Member Cassie.

I started with the images: I stamped the unicorn from Fluffy Puffy Unicorns, the balloons from Popping By and the bow from Quill You Be Mine stamp set on watercolor paper using Archival black ink and I watercolor them using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I was intending to use the coordinating dies to cut out the images, but I made a few mistakes outside the borders while I was coloring so I ended up fussy cutting everything.

I later used the same markers to watercolor the Woohoo Shadow Heffy Cut.

For the background, I trimmed several pieces of white cardstock (about 4 inches wide) and I used the cloud die from the Slimline Scenery dies in different positions to create different clouds; I ink blended the bottom of each one using Distress Oxide Tumbles Glass and I put them together using paper tape on the back, then I used the second big die from the Stitched Slimline Trio to create a perfect rectangle.

Little tip: I had to do this long process because the only cloud die I own-the slimline cloud die-is too big to be put on the Big Shot horizontally. If you have “standard” cloud dies, like the Silver Lining Cloud Border dies, you can easily make the same background by first cutting out the slimline rectangle and then using the cloud dies over it. That would save you a looot of time!

To be sure everything would stay in place, I cut out another rectangle and I glued the sky over it. Once the sky was done, I decided to add some splatters using light blue and pearl white watercolors.

Once the sky background was done, I used the dies from the Slimline Pull Tab dies to create the interactive part (the tab itself was cut out of holographic cardstock) and the scallop frame.

I placed the images and the sentiment and finished the card with sequins and pearl jewels.

I hope you like my project and feel free to comments if you have any question.
See you soon and happy crafting!
