Happy Thanksgiving – Perfect Combos
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series for Heffy Doodle.
Thanksgiving is approaching fast and I thought I bring you a cute woodland scene to celebrate the occasion. Scene cards are not necessarily complicated, with a couple of cute critters you can build up an adorable scene too. I mixed and matched some new stamps and older dies on this clean and simple Autum card. Let me guide you through the process.
First I stamped and coloured the images from Nuts about you and Deer to me. I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers: EB7, EB6, EB5, EB3, EB2, EB1, RB1, RB2, RB3, TN9, TN8, TN6, TN4, TN2, TN1, FS6, TB9, TB6, TB5, TB3, LY1, OR1. I cut everything out with the coordinating dies.
As I had a simple design in mind, I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock with the largest Imperial Stitched Rectangle die, and also some grass with the Grassy Lass Border dies from grey cardstock. I made two heights of grass to ensure dimension. I added a touch of Black Soot Distress Oxide ink very lightly to the edges of the grass and assembled the scene.
I did not want to use 3D foam squares this time, you can achieve a dimensional look even if you use liquid glue. Just make sure to build up your scene in layers: I put the trees and the birdhouse in the background, some treetrunks and the deer in the middle and mushrooms and birds on the front panel.
As for the sentiment, I used the Oh Deer from Deer to me and another one from the Classic Sentiments stamp set. As a finishing touch I used a black glaze pen on the eyes and glossy accents on the mushrooms.
I hope you enjoyed this simple scene and will pop in again soon for more.
See you,
Zsofi
