Fairy Warm Hugs with the Color Snapshot

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with a Fairy filled card using the colors from the February Color Snapshot. I loved creating with all of the shades of pink including deep raspberry, bubblegum, and cotton candy along with eucalyptus green. I combined images from several sets to create this frosty little scene.

I stamped and colored images from Absotoothly AwesomeWarm Hugs, and Big Bug Hugs. After die cutting I added small dot highlights.  Next, I die cut several paper layers to make my scene. I cut the largest panel from glittery deep raspberry colored patterned paper, then I cut several smaller sized panels from white Bristol Smooth Cardstock , glitter cardstock, and a eucalyptus green. I trimmed a grassy hill on the green paper using Grassy Lass Borders, then I created a couple of layers snow drifts using the  Stitched Slopey Joe Borders.

I absolutely love the new Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide and used it to ink a bright bubblegum pink sky. I very lightly added some darker picked raspberry to the very upper edges. I added some bundled sage to the upper edges of the green grassy layer as well, then splattered with water, glittery perfect pearls, and white ink.

After adhering the layers together, using liquid Glubert and foam tape, I added my images to the scene. I stamped the die cut word “fairy” in pink ink, then masked the sentiment from Warm Hugs and carefully stamped it around the die cut word. I love the contrast of shades of pink, and the only additional element I added was the little sparkle on the upper left.

I really enjoyed the challenge of such limited color choices and using these colors after Valentine’s Day. I have a ton of satisfaction when I look upon this little card.  I hope you might be inspired to play along with these fun colors and challenge yourself to use unexpected colors in new ways!

thank you for stopping by, Davina
