Perfect Combos – Summer fun
Hello Everyone,
It is Zsofi here, welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series. Here in Hungary summer is very hot and all I can think of is some water fun. So you can say that my mood and the weather inspired this cute friendship card. I used some stamps from the latest release and also some dies from older ones. Let me lead you through the process!
First I stamped the images from the Hot Diggity Dog stamp set with Lawn Fawn Crunchy Leaf and Jellyfish inks which are alcohol marker friendly. Then I used my Copics to add colour. I love black outlines but I also enjoy these lighter inks as they give a totally different look, almost like no-like colouring. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.
To set the scene I blended Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink on a piece of Heffy Doodle Cookie Monster cardstock with a blending brush. I made sure to get the colour darker on the edges, and added some diluted ink splatters along with some Inkon3 Pixie Dust (it is a liquid clear shimmer) so it looks like water sprinkles. When it was dry, I cut it down to A2 size with the biggest rectangle from Imperial Stitched Rectangles.
While I was at die cutting I also cut some grass from Hint of Mint cardstock using the Grassy Lass Borders and disressed them with Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough Disress oxide inks. I also cut a few Friend Heffy Cuts from the same green cardstock and a few Skinny frames from white cardstock and layered them on top of each other using liquid glue. The sentiment I distressed the same way as I did on the grass, it gives an ombre look which I love so much!
I assembled the card as o the picture and stamped another 2 sentiments in blue from the Close at heart stamp set under the die cut word. I finished the card with a few iridescent gems and glossy accents on the collars, noses and the nosel of the garden hose.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on Instagram where I share my happy creations! Thank you!
See you soon,
Zsofi
