Birthday Bananas!
Hello, Tallie here today with the next card in my Clean and Simple (CAS) Series. Featuring the Heffy Doodle Chimply the Best stamp set and the Scalloped Circle Masquerade stencil, it is perfect for any and all birthday bananas!
The first step was to attach an A6 blending card stock panel to the back of the Scalloped Circle Masquerade stencil. I used a MISTI to help me position the stamps to create this birthday bananas scene! Some Heffy memo tape was perfect in helping to mask off those parts to create some dimension in the scene. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to ensure there was no bleed using the markers.
And now for the fun part – the Copic colouring! Starting with the background, I created a gradient using some blue-green markers. I left the stencil attached to give me the scalloped circle shape as a window for the image. If you are finding your blending is streaky, just keep adding layers to saturate the cardstock and get smooth it out.
I chose bright, bold and warm colours for the foreground elements to make them stand out from the background. Make sure you use markers from a different colour family for the branches to differentiate them from the monkeys.
Once the scene was coloured, I stamped out the sentiment from the set centred underneath the scene.
A fun birthday bananas card suitable for adult and child alike!
