Simple Galaxy Background Featuring Spaced Out (Video)
Hello everyone, my name is Mary Polanco, and I’m so very excited to join Heffy Doodle this month as a Guest Designer. Today I’m making a very simple galaxy background with micah powders. I am using the Spaced Out stamp set and making this a one-layer card without having to mask anything! YAY! Galaxy backgrounds seem to be very popular, but can be quite intimidating. No need to feel that way with this technique. I did start with black watercolor cardstock which helps build up the color much faster. I added some water to the micah powders and swirled them around on the cardstock until I was happy with the look. Lastly, I flicked white gouache paint to make the “stars” in the galaxy. To finish off the card, I used the Heffy Doodle Hello die and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. I hope you’ll give this a try! Here is a video tutorial so you can watch this step by step.
