Hello Everyone,
It is Zsofi here, welcome to another edition of my Perfect Combos series. I love funny cards and when I first saw the
Pasta la vista stamp set I was giddy with the sentiments. I needed a punny birthday card so I paired it with the adorable veggies from
Veggie Patch. Let’s get started!

First I stamped some pasta and some of the veggies with black Copic friendly ink on white cardstock. Then I used my Copics to bring these cuties to life. I stayed with the warm tones except for the aubergine where I used some really dark purples. I didn’t think too much about shading but I tried to give the onion a bit of texture using flicking motions with my darker oranges. I love how it turned out! I used the
coordinating dies to cut them all out.

For the background I used Bristol Smooth cardstock and the
Cloudy skies stencil with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and a blender brush. This stencil is great thanks to the connected edges, you can easily tuck the cardstock in-between the cloud layers and apply ink. So fun!

I cut some grass with the
Grassy Lass border dies from Bristol Smooth cardstock and applied Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink on it with a blending brush. I also die cut a
Skinny rectangle frame from heavy weight cardstock, I planned to use it to draw attention to the funny sentiment.

Then I assembled the scene. I took some time to fiddle around which veggie to put where, but I enjoyed the process. When I was happy with the placement I adhered each piece with a drop of glue.

I left the sentiment to the last so I can ensure perfect placement. I stamped it in black to stand out. I scattered a bunch of tiny iridescent blue stars all over the sky and added glossy accents to the leaves and stems of the veggies. Also to the holes in the cheese, I love to make my cards 3D this way.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Perfect Combo and will check back later for more inspiration. If you like my cards, please make sure to follow me on

See you soon,
Zsofi
