A Spot of Corgi!
Hello! It’s Kari from Sunshine In My Pocket.com and I’m excited to be a guest on the Heffy Doodle Blog!
Today I have four cards to share featuring those cute Corgis from the “Oh Crumbs” stamp set. These Corgis are just too cute and I couldn’t stop creating with them!
My first card is a Corgi Tea Party, and I used the tree stump stamp from another set called “Hootiful” to create a table top for them.
These Corgis are just so happy, aren’t they?! I Colored up all the images with Copics and added a little detail with Prismacolor pencils. The tree branch is also from the “Hootiful” stamp set.
You might notice that one of the Corgis is a mirror image of the other! This is such an easy technique and I show you how to do this on my YouTube channel. Click here if you want to see an easy way to mirror image your stamps.
For this next card I used the Circles of Life stencil to create a fun background:
I started with some Neenah Desert Storm cardstock then placed the stencil on and inked up the first layer with White Pigment ink. Once that layer was dry, I shifted the stencil just a bit and added another layer of ink with Distress Oxide in Iced Spruce. It gives such a fun look when you layer your stencil this way!
I stacked up five layers of the “Hey” Heffy Cuts and added that to the card along with the adorable Corgi from “Oh Crumbs.” To complete the sentiment, I used a part of one of the sentiments from “Hootiful” that says “You’re so cute.”
I love that Corgi with his tongue sticking out!
My next card features a double sided view of these cute Corgis. The first thing I thought of when I saw this stamp set was to make two Corgi friends on a fence. These friends might be getting into a bit of trouble together. Lol.
I just have to smile when I think of the trouble they are causing together. But isn’t that what friends are for? The “Friend” Heffy Cuts was perfect for this card and I also used three layers of the “Grassy Lass Border Dies” inked up with Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron and a little Peeled Paint.
This card features a see-through circle, I added some acetate to the circle and then finished off the inside with their cute little Corgi back-sides!
I added another piece of thin card stock with the circle cut out as well as some more grassy border to finish of the inside as well. This way, you can’t see all the adhesive when you open the card.
The background circle is inked up with a favorite sunset combo of mine: Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides. I used the same colors to ink up the friend sentiment.
My last card makes me smile every time I see it. Those Corgis just can’t stand still, and they show their complete JOY:
They are just like four-year-olds having a tea party, don’t you think?! A little tea, a little running around…it’s a party after all!
I used the mirror technique I mentioned above to get them facing in different directions. The background is inked up with Peacock Feather Distress Oxide, then splattered with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide. I cut it into three smaller pieces, leaving white space between them all. Then I adhered them to the card, added some Grassy Lass border and all the cute tea party elements from the “Oh Crumbs” stamp set. Last, I attached the Corgis with some 3M foam tape to give them some dimension.
I hope you enjoyed all these projects today! I sure had fun making them. Be sure to check out the entire new release from Heffy Doodle…so many cute stamps, dies, and stencils released this month!
See you next time!
