2018 – Bring It On!

Hi Heffydoodlers! Ali here – the new year is nearly upon us and what better image to use for a card but a fist-pumping Ad-roar-able Lion!  He’s here to welcome the new year, determined that 2018 will be a great year! (I know a few of you will be glad to see the back of 2017). This simple card created with the magic of the Jet Alphabetters stamp set (HDS, SSS, ATC) and the Ad-roar-able Lions Set (HDS, SSS, ATC) has such a positive vibe!

To make the background, I masked off the center of a background card piece with a circle scrap. I used the Jet Alphabetters Set and Versafine ink to stamp the sentiment and numbers around the edge of the mask. I then cut a bigger circle from scrap paper (to mask of the sentiment) and used the Sun Ray stencil from My Favorite Things (SSS, MFT) and Mustard Seed Distress ink to sponge the rays out to the edge of the card. Removing the masks, I die cut a gold glitter circle (I used an American Craft Christmas Glitter Paper Pad) to fit inside the curve of the sentiment and adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the lion with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured him using Copics (E21, E27, E31, E33). I die cut him using the corresponding dies (HDS, SSS,). I popped the lion up with 3D foam and adhered him to the glitter circle.  I trimmed the background piece to size and backed with a gold glitter paper panel. I then adhered this to my card front.
