Gnome Matter What!

Building scenes with ink blending and die-cuts

Hi, Friends!

This is Caly and I’m so excited to guest for Heffy Doodle today!  I’ve created a happy scene using stamps, stencils and dies and Gnome Matter What, I hope you enjoy this card!

I just adore these gnomes and had such a great time coloring.  I began by stamping and coloring the images using Copic markers (R05, R29, E30, E35, B12, B24, B0000, B000, RV11, R85, YG06, G03, G09, V01, V12, BV00, BV11, V15, Y04, BG11, BG24, E50, E53, Y26, Y28, Y38, E25, E55, R20, C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, C6).  After coloring, I die-cut the images, added white gel pen highlights, and clear lacquer (Glossy Accents) to the mushroom, and set everything aside to work on the background.

I envisioned a scene with grass, clouds and a burst of sunshine, so I started by ink-blending the top half of a piece of white cardstock with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink.  When done, I used the Rays the Roof stencil to add Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink to lightly blend in the rays.

I also die-cut clouds and added some glitter using Glossy Accents around the edges for some extra interest before adhering it to the ink-blended panel with the rays.  Finally, to complete my background, I used the Grassy Lass Border Dies to add two strips of grass across the bottom of my card panel.  The top layer is adhered using foam adhesive for dimension.

The best part of cardmaking for me is the scene building when adding my stamped and colored images.  There are different things going on and all the gnomes are so happy! As I type this, I’m reflecting on all the different things that go on in each of our lives and how we often forget to live in the moment.  We could learn a few things from happy gnomes!
