Heffy Doodle Friends Blog Hop

Welcome, crafty friends!

Thanks so much for joining us today! We’ve got lots of inspiration lined up with some of our lovely crafty friends from all over the world, and even a prize for a lucky winner!

So let’s get right to the card for today’s hop!

I was so excited to collaborate with Lesley on this Quack Me Up set. I thought ducks splashing in puddles with umbrellas was just too cute of an idea NOT to make into a stamp set, and Lesley made the magic happen and the result is this adorable set of images!

I stamped them all on white cardstock with a copic safe black ink and then colored them with my copic markers. After using the matching die set to cut them out, I set them aside and went to work on the background.

Using the brick by brick stencil, I ink blended Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide ink onto Kraft cardstock, and then used Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the bricks. I added some further dimension with copic markers to complete the background.

I then cut a grass panel using the Grassy Lass die, and ink blended Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks onto the panel before gluing it down flat on the brick background panel. I then spritzed the grass panel with water for some texture.

After cutting and scoring a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base, I glued both the brick background panel and the grass piece on to the card, and then mounted my duck images with foam tape and adhered them down to the card, creating the scene.

I finished of the card by stamping out a sentiment, trimming it down, and then matting it on to a piece of white cardstock that I colored the same yellow as I used on my ducks!

Thanks so much for stopping by to start off this fantastic hop! Here are the details!

Hop along to each blog and leave a comment. One random winner who comments on every blog will be chosen to win a prize of a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store! The winner will be announced on the blog on Monday, August 5th at 9AM EST!

So cute–the ducks are precious! The brick wall in the background was a nice choice–they live on a farm that has brick walls. Love it.
